About Higher Praise Dance Academy
Higher Praise Dance Academy in Detroit, Michigan, is a 501© 3, non-profit 
educational center whose mission is to provide youth with excellent enrichment
and self-development opportunities as well as community service and outreach
experience, and to provide training for youth and adults in various art forms for
personal and spiritual enrichment.
Higher Praise Dance Academy has been operating since January 1997, with annual recitals since 1998. The dance academy has recently moved (October 2006) into an old Lutheran School inside Nazareth Lutheran Church. The classrooms have been renovated into dance studios. The school has a reception area with lounge, 2 studios, and 1 master studio. There is also a classroom for dance ministry school, youth workshops and tutorial lessons. A computer lab is presently being worked on for the after school programs.

PROGRAMS OFFERED:
*Martial Arts (Ages 7 – Adult)
*Various Dance Classes (Ages 4 – Adult)
*Monthly Youth Workshops – A time for youth to be encouraged to pursue career goals, and abstain from sex, drugs, and alcohol.
*Computer Lab - For youth in the community who do not have access to a computer
*Tutoring – A time where kids receive assistance in doing their homework
*Community Outreach - Where the youth and adults go on outings to showcase their talent to the less fortunate, and give away clothes and/or food.
*Summer Dance Camp – A program offered during the summer where kids would enjoy summer dance classes and youth workshops, free food, 4 days a week and 4 hours per day at a minimal cost.
*Free Dance Class Opportunities – 6 Days a year we offer classes for free as an open house to invite the people in the community to our school.
*Private Dance Lessons - We offer private lessons beginning at $25/hour. Discounts available for block reservations.
*Booking Opportunities - Our Dance Company is available for booking to dance at your special event. Call early for rates & reservations. A 2-week minimum advance notice is required.
*Studio Rental - We have 3 dance studio spaces available for rent at 1050, 861 & 782 sq ft. Our competitive rates are based on studio size, rental duration & number of dancers.
*Ask about programs for low income families.

Student Training Manual |
The Student Training Manual is specifically for classroom instruction. $16.50 per book.
The Teacher's edition is $18.00 per book.
It is recommended that leader attend a one-day workshop for Facilitator’s Training, if leader is unable to first be a student in Susan’s class. This workshop will prepare the leader on how to effectively teach from the Student Training Manual.
